The Story of Lyon

What an amazing day! After breakfast we had a rehearsal in the chapel here at the hotel. Even the rehearsal brought some of us (mainly me) to tears. Then we were off to Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere where we got to see where we were going to perform in the afternoon. The crypt was so beautiful as was the entire basilique. We were even able to see Mont Blanc from the viewpoint, which I hear is unusual. After rehearsal we walked down to town to have lunch and see the sights. Back to Valpre to change for our concert, then back to perform. It was so beautiful listening to the sounds of our voices bounce around the crypt as crowds of people would come and go during the concert. After the concert it was a night crawl around Lyon experiencing the food, culture, and delicious wine. A great start to our France experience.

Drinks before dinner (as they don't like to start serving dinner until 7pm in France)

I learned to keep your purse zipped up and closed. A man tried to steal something from my purse in a store. Stay alert and keep your stuff closed and close! Thankfully he didn't get anything because I felt him digging and yelled at him.

Alicia, Yvonne, and Sue were in town having dinner and Yvonne needed to use the WC. So they asked a local and they pointed to the McDonalds and said to go up the stairs and act like you know what you are doing and they won't ask any questions. So Yvonne went up and Alicia followed a few moments later and a man who was a bouncer of some sort asked Alicia for her ticket. She obviously didn't have one so he didn't let her go up. So then Sue got worried Yvonne was going to be stuck up there not able to come back down, and Alicia reassured her she was not going to be trapped in the McJail.

This morning Lauren woke up a stinging sensation and after a search of the room found a wasp had stung her twice in her bed!!@!!  Thankfully we found what it was, so we know she will not die.
